Israeli, US actions against aid flotilla meant to cover up Gaza crimes: Iran deputy FM

Tehran, IRNA – Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi says Israeli attacks on Gaza-bound aid ships and international activists are because of the regime's fear that the crimes it committed against Palestinians will be exposed.

The child-killing Zionist regime stops humanitarian vessels bound for Gaza; the United States, too, sanctions activists linked to the aid fleet, and calls this complicity a security measure, Gharibabadi taunted in a post on his X account on Wednesday.
Referring to American-Israeli pretexts, he wrote that under their upside-down logic, food and medicine are threats, aid is a crime, and a siege that keeps children hungry is rebranded as defense.
The senior diplomat rejected the Israeli notion of "security" for its attacks on the flotilla, saying that starving civilians, obstructing humanitarian aid, and collectively punishing a population are crimes under international law.
When the Zionist regime stops an aid ship, and the US imposes sanctions on those trying to deliver aid, are not a matter of security, but out of fear that their crimes would be exposed, Gharibabadi added in the post, in reaction to Israel's storming of the aid flotilla and their interception and arrest of activists aboard the vessels in international water.
