According to a statement carried by Sepah news website, Mohbi rejected claims that the IRGC Aerospace Force had targeted the Kuwaiti facility.
He said investigations conducted by Iranian authorities found no evidence that Iranian missiles were directed at the airport terminal.
Mohbi added that the damage resulted from Patriot interceptor missiles that fell onto the terminal after failing to intercept Iranian missiles during recent operations.
The spokesperson said Iran’s findings indicate the incident was the result of a US missile defense system error.
