Iran’s interior minister travels to Kyrgyzstan to attend SCO meeting

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni has arrived in the capital of Kyrgyzstan to attend a ministerial meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

Momeni and an accompanying delegation were received by Interior Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulan Niyazbekov and Iran’s Ambassador Gholamhossein Yadegari, upon their arrival in Bishkek on Thursday.
The Iranian minister described the SCO meeting and scheduled consultations with his counterparts as an important opportunity to enhance regional and bilateral cooperation.
Momeni is expected to discuss bilateral and regional issues in their talks with his counterparts, including from Pakistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
The SCO has 10 members and was formed for multilateral military-security, economic, and cultural cooperation.
