SCO interior ministers underline fighting cyber threats

Tehran, IRNA – The interior ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, in a meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, stressed strengthening information security and joint efforts to combat cyber threats.

During the meeting, which was held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the participants exchanged views on current challenges, including the rapid development of digital technologies.

At a time of profound transformation in the international system and a crisis in global stability, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization remains a reliable mechanism for maintaining stability and strengthening trust and security, Japarov said.
Referring to the existing challenges in the world, he said that world criminals are actively mastering artificial intelligence, automating cyber-attacks, using disinformation, and opening new channels for illegal financial flows.
Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momani arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Thursday, leading a high-level delegation to participate in the SCO Ministers of Interior summit.
Upon his arrival, the Iranian minister, highlighting the objectives of the summit, described the meeting as a significant opportunity for both regional and bilateral consultations.
