IRGC hits US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain with missiles after American assaults

Tehran, IRNA – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has targeted two US air bases in Kuwait and key remaining facilities of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain with ballistic missiles after American attacks on Iranian sites.

The IRGC said in a statement early Saturday that its Aerospace Force launched ballistic missile strikes against the Ali Al Salem air base in Kuwait and important remaining facilities of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
According to the statement, the developments followed an incident at 1:30 am when four “violating oil tankers,” acting under the “provocation and guidance” of the US military, attempted to leave the Strait of Hormuz illegally without coordination and despite repeated warnings from the IRGC Navy.
One of the tankers was targeted and stopped after warnings were issued, while the other vessels turned back, the statement said.
The IRGC further said that at 2:30 am, US drones struck a telecommunications tower in Qeshm and another tower in Sirik with two drones.
“In response to the aggression of the child-killing US army,” the statement said, the missile strikes were carried out immediately against the American military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The IRGC warned the United States against repeating “these acts of mischief,” saying Iran would not be satisfied with a limited response if such actions continued.
It also cautioned that Washington would bear responsibility for the consequences of “the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz to the export of your oil and gas.”
It came after US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed it shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones that were launched toward the Strait of Hormuz and subsequently struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island to defend against further attacks.
The IRGC Navy has maintained full control over the Strait of Hormuz since the US and Israel launched their second war of aggression against Iran on February 28, and has warned that any interference by foreign military forces will be met with immediate retaliation.
