In a post on X on Monday, Sharif said the latest escalation was a stark reminder of the risks posed by an unstable truce and the potentially devastating consequences of the breach of the ceasefire.
“As we work earnestly and painstakingly, together with our brothers and partners, to find a peaceful diplomatic solution to the conflict, and especially when the final objective is just about to be achieved, we sincerely urge all sides to exercise restraint and give peace a little more chance,” Sharif said.
His remarks came after the Israeli regime targeted different sites across Iran last night in a breach of a Pakistani-mediated ceasefire between Iran and the United States following a US-Israeli-imposed war against Iran, as well as renewed Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon.
Sharif said diplomatic efforts were showing promising prospects and called on all sides to remain committed to negotiations rather than return to violence.
“Let us continue to remain on the path of peace and diplomacy which have bright prospects of success instead of violence and destruction,” he said.
