According to a statement issued by the headquarters, widespread planning has been carried out for the ceremonies honoring Martyr Ayatollah Khamenei and members of the Leader’s family who were also martyred.
The statement said speculation and rumors circulating in domestic and foreign media regarding the timing and details of the ceremonies are “not valid” and have created confusion among many people wishing to attend what it described as a major national event.
It added that the decision to hold the ceremonies after the first 10 days of Muharram was made in consideration of the late leader’s longstanding commitment to mourning rituals for Imam Hussein (AS), as well as the importance of commemorations held across Iran and around the world during the sacred period. Muharram starts at June 16 this yeart.
The headquarters said further details of the ceremonies will be announced at an appropriate time.
Ayatollah Khamenei and several members of his family were martyred in US-Israeli airstrikes targeting his residence in Tehran on February 28, when the two terrorist regimes launched a war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
