Ghalibaf made the remarks on Friday, the third day of the Iranian parliamentary delegation’s visit to Iraq, after visiting Wadi al-Salam Cemetery in Najaf and paying tribute to the martyrs of the Iraqi resistance.
He emphasized that the unity of the Muslim community, particularly between the Iranian and Iraqi nations, is unbreakable, saying that the bond is rooted in the teachings of the Quran, love and adherence to the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH), the culture of martyrdom and Ashura, and Imam Ali (PBUH)’s school of thought.
The parliament speaker said that Iranian and Iraqi combatants stood together at critical junctures, including in the fight against the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group, adding that the Iraqi people also stood alongside Iran during the recently imposed war by the United States and the Israeli regime. Ghalibaf described martyrs Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani as symbols of this bond.
He also said that the Resistance Front against the Israeli regime is more alive and active today than ever, adding that it has followed a path charted by Imam Khomeini (RA) and the martyrs, which the nations of the region are continuing through brotherhood, solidarity, and support for religious authorities and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
