Students remain on frontline of fight against arrogance: Iran

Tehran, IRNA – Minister of Education, Alireza Kazemi, has highlighted Iranian students’ frontline role in confronting the Global Arrogance.

Today’s students inherit the legacy of the 36,000 martyred students of the Sacred Defense era, the Iraqi-imposed war against Iran, and the martyred students of Minab and Lamerd in confronting the bullying and excessive demands of dominating powers, Kazemi said, addressing a ceremony to mark November 4 as the Student Day and the National Day of Fight Against Global Arrogance.

He criticized US policies, citing four decades of pressure, sanctions, and hostile measures by the regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and said that the essence of US policy rests on domination, bullying, and exploiting the interests of other nations.

Pointing to international developments and US actions in various countries, including Venezuela and the Persian Gulf littoral states, he said the Iranian nation has resisted US oppression and pressure for the past 47 years and, during the recent war, has offered many martyrs, among them the innocent students of Minab and Lamerd.

He stated that the US has no desire for Iran’s progress and regarded awareness and vigilance as necessary conditions for confronting hegemonic policies.
