On the occasion of Aban 13, the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance, Amoli-Larijani said on his X account on Wednesday that this year’s Aban 13 marked the culmination of a series of defeats for US leaders, extending from the battlefield to the ballot box, as the president and his party lost control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
He added that the US president had acknowledged Iran’s role in this defeat but said he would repeat the war again.
The chief of the Expediency Council pointed out that such a reaction reflects the same sinister arrogance that the Iranian nation has steadfastly opposed—a power that disregards international law, ignores human conscience, and now even overlooks the votes of its own citizens.
Amoli-Larijani stressed that although the record of the political faction that has now taken control of Congress, like that of its rival, suggests that it will largely maintain the same foreign policy course, the latest election was a resounding “no” to US warmongering policies and amounted to a kind of referendum on them.
He added that if the victorious party is willing to learn from the outcome, it will heed the message of this referendum and clearly recognize the consequences of warmongering.
