Esmaeil Baqaei stressed on Thursday that the EU itself bears responsibility for human rights violations in Yemen due to its role in the economic sanctions and blockade against the Yemenis. The diplomat said European officials cannot absolve themselves of responsibility by shifting blame to others.

Baqaei also strongly denied claims about the presence of Iranian military experts in Yemen, stating that Yemenis possess the capability and will to defend their national sovereignty.

The spokesperson further condemned attacks on various parts of Yemen, including vital infrastructure and residential areas, calling for an end to the aggression against Yemen’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
